Ben and Nely Fortney met in 2014 when Ben visited the Bi-lingual school where Nely worked in the Zamorano Valley, Honduras. Ben moved to Honduras and has been serving as a church planting missionary since then. He and Nely were married in 2017. They have two boys Santiago (4) and Luca (17 months). They also have a foster daughter named Martha (19). Ben is a Church planter who is passionate about sharing the Word of God with others. In 2018 Ben helped plant and lead Iglesia del Valle in the Zamorano Valley in Honduras. That church has been handed off to Honduran Pastors who are still shepherding the church well. Currently, Ben is the Lead Pastor of New Hope Church and oversees the preaching/teaching, vision casting and discipleship. He also serves on the Executive and General board of Legacy Mission International. Apart from being a fantastic mother and wife, Nely leads a women’s bible study, teaches Sunday school, mentors teen girls through celebration place and is always pouring into the women in the church. She is also currently teaching at a Christian school.
